Feburary Pin-Sights Challenge + Watercolor Lifting

Inspired by (another) great video tutorial by Jennifer McGuire yesterday on watercolor lifting, I just had to give it a whirl. My color palette is inspired by the current Ellen Hutson February Pin-Sights Challenge, and I used one of my go-to stamp sentiment sets from Reverse Confetti - Lots To Say.

Once I'd watercolored my background using a bright pink Zig marker, I clear embossed the Lots To Say sentiment and then went back in, brushed clean water on top and dabbed away at the surrounding color to reveal the embossed sentiment. It's a super cool technique, so be sure to watch Jennifer's video.

I just love the pools and streams of color. Don't be afraid to add more water - it's sorta like letting go of all control...beautiful things can happen!

Here's the Pin-Sights Challenge inspiration piece - yummy, right?! I was very much taken with #3 and #9.

I hope you get a chance to try out a new challenge or new technique this week. It's a great way to grow your crafty spirit!

The Lord's Strength

Hi, and thanks for stopping by today! I have a card to share with you today featuring camouflaged die cuts, a watercolored background and bold sentiment from the newly released The Lord's Strength from Reverse Confetti

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and smooshed Tim Holtz Distress Inks (set #1), drying each color slightly with a heat tool before moving on to the next color. I then stamped the sentiment from The Lord's Strength in black ink using my MISTI to stamp repeatedly for solid coverage.

Then, I decided that my background looked a little sky-like, so I die cut Weather It Together clouds from it and then again from white fun foam  on which I layered the top cut. A bit of washi tape and 'rain' sequins gave the clouds a bit more focus.

If you're not familiar with camouflaged die cuts, click HERE for a great tutorial (by Julie Ebersole) and HERE for another on ink smooshing (by Laura Bassen).

Have a great day!

Spicy Hot Cocoa Jar Gifts

Are you ready for Valentine's Day weekend? I took a few quick shots of these sweet jars before heading out the door this morning. George and I put them together last night (last minute Lucy style) just in time to deliver to his teachers at school today.

The front Tag Me Confetti Cuts tag is stamped with Crushin' stamps and then layered with another red tag on which I printed the Spicy Hot Cocoa recipe.

Here's a peeky side view and a better look at those adorable wooden spoons I found on Amazon after seeing this post by my sweet friend Laurie Willison. I got great stamp results on the handles using red dye ink.

Sending you all sweet cyber-wishes for Valentine's Day. Thanks for stopping by today!

Reverse Confetti February Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the February release blog hop wtih Reverse Confetti! I hope you have enjoyed all of the countdown post projects. I sure enjoyed reading all of your lovely comments, so I want to thank you for that! The Confetti Crew is on hand to help your finish up your shopping list or to provide you with a bit more inspiration if you've already finished your shopping. At the bottom of the post you'll find the complete blog hop lineup ready for you to click-click-click.

Today's card uses a sentiment from A Friend Like You, Confetti Cuts - Edgers, a bit of watercoloring and a die cut shamrock using the heart die from S'more Love

I started by gold embossing the sentiment and then smooshed two shades of green dye inks over the top. The 'lucky' part of the sentiment gave me the idea to somehow create a shamrock, and the S'more Love heart die was just the right size (lucky me!). I thought the scalloped Edgers tied in nicely with the shamrock.

Once again, thank you for all of your sweet comments. Enjoy hopping through the Confetti Crew blogs and have fun with your new Reverse Confetti products!

Countdown to Confetti - Hippity Hoppity

Happy weekend, everyone! It's the second day of Reverse Confetti's Countdown to Confetti, and I've got a sweet little number for you using an adorable new Dawn Machell set, Hippity Hoppity (even the name is cute).

I Copic colored and die cut the boy bunny from Hippity Hoppity and then added a jumbo carrot to the scene and embossed sentiment strip. Jumbo carrot is the Confetti Cuts - Flower Wrap and Tassel in disguise. I cut the carrot top (tassel) from one of the new Quick Card Panels - Hoppin' Dots.

And how about those cute stamped carrots and butterflies?!  I know.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at today's countdown post! Remember to leave a comment for a chance at a $15 Reverse Confetti gift certificate. You can also comment on the Reverse Confetti Facebook page for a chance at another $15 gift certificate. See you back here tomorrow!
